After leaving the Baby Unit in the main house, the children move to the ground floor of the Coach House, where we have three classes for children aged between 2 and 3 years, Poppies, Bluebells and Violets. With easy access to the gardens and outside play areas, it still retains the character of the Coach House to the main listed building, but has all the advantages of newly built custom made classrooms.
A wide variety of activities are available to enhance the individual needs of your child and to stimulate and further their abilities, both indoors and out. The weekly Tots Tune Time music session is a firm favourite with this age group.
Outdoor play is an important part of the daily routine with direct access to the garden from one of the class rooms. Here the children can benefit from many outdoor areas including the sensory garden and mini farm.
We feel that communication and inter-action between you and our staff is very important. If you wish, a daily diary is completed for your child which provides you with details of their routine for the day and answers most of the frequently asked questions.
With its own children's bathrooms and changing areas it provides a light and spacious area for the children to play and develop their skills. The windows of the house were built lower than usual, enabling the children to have uninterrupted views of the gardens. With plenty of space to display the children's work, it provides a safe and secure facility for learning and play. Your child's learning journal will continue as they move throughout the nursery which contains a detailed development plan, observations, photographs and selected pieces of art work and is available for you to view at any time.
Staff will provide you with a comprehensive handover at the end of your child's session and will discuss any concerns that may arise.
We hold an open evening twice a year when you have the opportunity to spend a more lengthy period of time in your child's class to discuss, in more detail, your child's progress and development with the staff who care for them.
